Philip "Crow" Wright, Rhythm Guitar & Vocals
Philip began his formal music education by playing the baritone horn in his junior high school's "beginning band" program. He switched to the trombone in high school and played in several of the school ensembles, including singing in the choir. Philip became more obsessed with music when he found his father's old guitar and a Roy Clark chord book. He played that guitar incessantly, and was finally given one of his own as a high school graduation present. Philip and his guitar were inseparable for the next few years. He furthered his music education by studying music theory, composition, and improvisation at U.C. Davis and California State University of Sacramento. He eventually entered a battle of the bands and took first place, after which he stumbled into a government career and drifted away from the music scene. Ten years later, his brother Paul, a talented and dedicated bass guitar player, finally encouraged him to start playing again. Philip and Paul are now playing hard together to make up for lost time. The band gives Philip the opportunity to express his passion for music through rock and roll, and to share his excitement with everybody around him. |
